Farming for nearly ninety years, international grower/shipper/packer is seeking to add to their accounting team and operation in Yuma, Arizona. Summary of position: Under supervision from the Operations Controller and Vice President of Southern District, this individual performs varied accounting functions. Day to day activities require the use of initiative and judgment, particularly when prioritizing work.
Responsibilities to include but are not limited to:
Participate in monthly general ledger closings and financial reporting.
Review and analyze cost accumulation of ranch and blocks and indirect cost centers.
Develop and maintain rigorous documentation standards to ensure ongoing knowledge and transfer of knowledge of all business critical finance and accounting applications and processes.
Assist with data collection and reporting for operational decision making and planning.
Maintain Operations database and reporting.
Develop and manage a more efficient seed inventory system.
Implement accounts payable processing workflow.
Participate in or complete special projects as needed.
Successful candidate will have the following skills, education and/or
Experience:
Knowledge of general accounting practices
Knowledge of auditing practices
Operation of standard office equipment, including personal computers, photocopier, fax machines
BA/BS in Accounting
Minimum of 3-5 years accounting experience
Excellent customer service skills on the phone and in person
Strong knowledge and experience with Microsoft Excel,Word, and accounting software
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to keep skill set current
Organized team player who works well with a variety of people with a minimum of supervision
Solid problem solving skills with a methodical approach
Regular and consistent attendance mandatory
Valid drivers license and clean record
Correct English usage, including spelling, grammar, punctuation and vocabulary
